Canvas by Instructure (NYSE:INST), has announced a UK-wide initiative calling for a new approach from Government to help schools, colleges and universities engage with digital learning.

Around 30 schools are set to be involved in a series of consultations during June and July, aimed at gaining a grassroots perspective on the challenges of implementing the right tools for digital learning in classrooms. Industry heavyweights such as Reform and FutureGov will be called upon for insight and guidance.

The result of the in-depth, country-wide consultations will be an instructive white paper, providing concrete guidance to Government representatives and educators.

In the face of dwindling budgets, an evolving employment market and a focus on academic rigour, institutions are looking to tech to deliver a better, more engaging learning experience that prioritises self-directed and investigative study - Rachel Matthews, communications director for Instructure

Rachel Matthews, communications director for Instructure, said: “There’s no doubt that technology has the potential to revolutionise the education industry. In the face of dwindling budgets, an evolving employment market and a focus on academic rigour, institutions are looking to tech to deliver a better, more engaging learning experience that prioritises self-directed and investigative study. However, it’s crucial that there is information and guidance available to help institutions choose, procure and implement the right technology to improve learning — and ultimately to achieve better results. We hope that this initiative will kick-start more formal conversations in Government and industry, where a more cohesive strategy is prioritised.”

Instructure welcomes input from all participants in industry. To be a part of these consultations, please contact consultation@instructure.com for further details.
