Expona flooring helps school hall keep its traditional look

Wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor's Expona Design PUR collection was a perfect choice for a school hall refurb project

Wood effect luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Expona Design PUR collection were the perfect choice of flooring for a school hall refurbishment project at Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools in Edinburgh.

315m² of Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the Walnut design were installed by Forever Flooring of Broxburn, Mid Lothian at the independent school for girls aged 12 to 17. The school hall needed to be refurbished, and as Expona Design flooring was performing well elsewhere in the school, the same luxury vinyl tile range was selected for this space.

The traditional Walnut design authentically reproduces the appearance of natural wood and features rich dark tones which fits in perfectly with the style of the old Victorian building.  The flooring contractor also expertly installed full plank perimeter detail with bespoke inlay strip supplied by Polyflor’s Design Service.

Ryan from Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools commented, “We needed a new floor that would be in keeping with the traditional style of our hall interior and have the look of real wood but would also be durable and easy to maintain. Our Expona Design flooring looks great and delivers on performance.”

Featuring 28 stunning wood, stone and abstract effects, the heavy commercial Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tile collection will provide years of performance in education environments where there are high levels of foot traffic. These hard wearing luxury vinyl tiles have a 3.0mm gauge, 0.7mm wear layer and are enhanced with Polyflor’s exclusive and robust PUR polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured to provide a fuss-free cleaning and maintenance regime.

Samples of Expona Design luxury vinyl tiles can be ordered free of charge on the Polyflor website or by calling the Polyflor Samples Direct Hotline on 0161 767 2551. The Expona Design range contains approximately 40% recycled materials and is also 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme.

Expona Design’s environmental credentials are impressive, achieving a BRE A+ rating for major use areas in the education sector and Indoor Air Comfort Gold, assuring that VOC emissions are below any globally determined levels.

Polyflor’s recently launched education brochure demonstrates how vinyl can be the perfect flooring solution for education environments, from nurseries to universities. To order your free copy or read online, visit the Polyflor website.
