Crosfields appoints new headmaster
As of next September, the Reading-based prep school will be led by the current head of Davenies school in Beaconsfield

Following the announcement earlier this year that Jonathan Wansey will retire as headmaster of Crosfields in August 2015, the board of governors has completed its search for his successor. The new headmaster will be Craig Watson, who has a wealth of prep school experience, both at The Hall Prep School in Hampstead and, for the last eight years, as headmaster of Davenies Prep School in Beaconsfield. Craig is also an independent schools inspector and a prep school governor.
Craig comments: “I was absolutely delighted to be asked to be the head of Crosfields. The school has a terrific reputation and is clearly ambitious for each of the children. I look forward to working with the staff and parents to continue the impressive momentum established under Jonathan Wansey’s successful tenure.”
Craig is an English specialist, with keen interests in literature, films and plays. He
also enjoys classical music and art. He is an enthusiastic sportsman and runs regularly, as well as following rugby. He is married to Helen, who works in publishing, and they have a 16-year-old daughter.
Craig will be getting to know the Crosfields community before taking up his post in September 2015, and over the next few months he will be attending events at the school.
