AKS Lytham is an outstanding institution for both academic and co-curricular opportunity and a place where opportunities for personal growth abound. All AKS students are offered sporting and recreational opportunities that provide a variety of challenges to suit every individual and develop the personal skills of teamwork and co-operation.

Supported by numerous staff, an extensive range of co-curricular activities maximise the excellent facilities including two sports halls, floodlit astro-turf, four rugby and five football pitches, four netball courts, 14 tennis courts, including two grass courts, and a superb fitness facility.

AKS Lytham are delighted that their sports kit truly reflects their pupils’ achievements and diverse sports offering, helping them to achieve their best both on and off the field.

Pupils enjoy great success at all levels: participating in numerous recreational activities, competing in the Inter-House activities that take place throughout the year or as part of the extensive weekend and midweek fixture lists. Approximately 75% of all pupils represent the school in at least one activity during the course of the year. 

It is not only in the participation that AKS excels, with currently over 30 pupils gaining representative honours at county, regional or national level in 11 different sports this year alone.

The opportunity for pupils to experience different cultures is also a key element of the sporting life at 

AKS, with recent domestic and major overseas sports tours to Wales, Scotland, Spain, Sri Lanka, Australia, Singapore and a return to South Africa and Swaziland in July 2017.
