The 2018 Education Summit, held at Bryanston School in Dorset on the 6th of June, attracted nearly 500 delegates from state and independent schools across the South West. Attendees heard a host of influential and inspirational speakers during the event, organised to showcase new ideas and identify trends within the teaching profession.

The summit, entitled “Where next for Schools?”, was the second Bryanston Education Summit. Speakers included the Chief Inspectors of both Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate, the National Schools Commissioner and the Joint General Secretary of the National Education Union.

Also speaking were educational pioneers such as Katharine Birbalsingh, the Head of the widely acclaimed Michaela Community School in north-west London, and writer and campaigner Natasha Devon. They were joined by consultant and author Gary Wilson and Daisy Christodoulou, Director of Education at No More Marking.

“The feedback from delegates has been outstanding,” said Sarah Thomas, Head of Bryanston. “We are delighted to act as hosts for an event that provides educationalists with a great opportunity to share ideas and new initiatives that will help children to flourish both academically and emotionally. The sterling efforts of my colleagues – in particular, Dr David James – to create an event that inspires, enthuses and also questions current wisdom in so many ways, has certainly helped to promote the education agenda across the region and beyond.”
