Schools can now benefit from an extra income stream thanks to a new technology set to revolutionise the charity greetings card market
Hello Market, a specialist in personalised marketing print, has launched a range of greetings cards able to feature a chosen educational organisation/institute as well as made specific to the sender and receiver.
All schools and educational institutes need to do to generate the extra cash is link their supporters from their website, emails and newsletters to a dedicated landing page carrying their own branding. This is provided free of charge and takes users through to a comprehensive range of year-round greetings cards which can be fully personalised (with photo upload options) in the usual way but with the added extra of carrying the educational institute’s logo on the back. In return Hello Market donates 10p plus 10% of the print and production cost of every card to the featured institute.
Hello Market prints each card and posts it out to the named recipient. Anyone wanting to send out multiple personalised cards – such as at Christmas – can provide their recipient database, pick and personalise their card, and Hello Market will print and send them all out.
Said Tony Kemp, the brains behind the new initiative: ‘Britons now spend around £1.3 billion a year on single greetings cards and this is a totally risk-free way for schools/educational groups and institutes of all aims and sizes to get a greater share of that market.
‘Until now, only Christmas cards have really generated additional income – and then mostly for the larger, more established charities – through the sale of boxed card sets in stores. What we aim to do is open up the all-year round greetings card market to fund raisers. Whether it’s birthday cards, Mother’s Day cards, wedding or congratulations cards, educational institutes can benefit from every single sale of cards sent out with their logo on the back.
‘All we ask the educational organisations to do is promote the fact that their supporters – both consumer and corporate – can now go on to their website and find pretty much every greetings card they will ever need. And as well as being able to choose and personalise their cards, it means they make an automatic donation to their charity/organisation at the same time.”
