Rydal Penrhos’ U-10 rugby side travelled to St Ambrose College to compete at an IAPS Festival, where they turned in a series of sensational performances to come away unbeaten and secure the overall crown.

A strong start saw the group gain twin triumphs from their opening games, and they continued to dominate with wins over Altrincham Prep School, Terra Nova School and the hosts, making it five-from-five and sealing a 100 per cent record from their fixtures.

It has been a season to remember for Rydal Penrhos’ aspiring rugby stars, who recently retained the annual Cooper Cup for the fourth consecutive year, thanks to a 3-1 victory over Colwyn Bay.

Head of Boys’ Games, Jamie McLeod, said: “It was an excellent afternoon of rugby and it was great to see each player involved performing to an extremely high level.

“They have all been working very hard to improve all areas of their game, and you can really see just how much this has been paying off for them.”
