Dressed to impress

We talk to XXV Brand Manager Sam Killin about performance sportswear and being part of the Stevensons group

Posted by Hannah Oakman | October 04, 2016 | Sports & Leisure

1. Tell us about your new sports kit range

XXV is a specialist performance sportswear brand tailored to suit the needs of the schoolwear market, combining the very latest in performance fabrics with cutting edge fully customizable designs. We are experts in creating innovative high-performance sportswear, made in Europe, at a lower cost than the market leaders. But where XXV really score is our service.  We offer our schools an unrivalled 4-week turnaround from design sign-off to delivery, as well as providing a full set of samples so they can trial the look and feel of their new sportswear, rather than signing off on visuals. We also back that up with an unrivalled range of retail service options that include high street stores, online shops, pop-up shops, on-campus shops and a phone ordering helpline.

2. How does the new range reflect overall trends in schoolwear?

XXV is the sportswear brand from Stevensons, the largest school uniform outfitters in the UK, so we understand the increasing need for schools to have strong school branding that can be consistently applied across both uniforms and sportswear.  We can even Pantone match colours across school and uniform ranges to create complete consistency across a school.

We can provide a sportswear range, across all sports and all sizes, which stands out and can set their school apart. We give schools complete creative control to work with us on designing kit they and their sports teams can be truly proud of.  We offer some of the most technologically advanced materials in the market, while also ensuring that the XXV branding is discreet, so it’s the schools’ brand that shines through.  As a large uniform and sportswear supplier, we can also provide schools with assured quality products, manage lead times and deliver economies of scale, whatever type of clothing we provide.

3. How does a school’s sport kit reinforce their reputation?

We believe that the most important brand for a school is their own and it should be applied across both their sportswear and uniform, reflecting the school's ethos, as well as looking smart. They also want parents and pupils to be happy with their clothing they are required to wear. Pupils themselves want sportswear that looks good, is comfortable and that they can wear with pride to represent their school. Parents, however, are more interested in great quality products, great service, and good value for money. We have proved over many years with hundreds of schools that we can deliver on all fronts.

4. What’s next for Stevensons and XXV?

The world of sportswear is constantly evolving, so we ensure our schools are kept up-to-date with the latest trends in design and fabric innovation, so they can choose if and when to upgrade to the latest breathable fabrics and stay-dry technology. We also are able to produce branded staff kit and teamwear. With options to suit every school’s budget and requirements we are always looking to welcome new schools to the XXV family, as well as offering our existing clients our latest range of products or working with them on redesigns.
