Five-star rating for Highfield and Brookham Schools

Highfield and Brookham Schools have been awarded a five-star food hygiene rating after a surprise inspection

It was the first inspection carried out with no recommendations or advisory notes from the health officer.

Each lunchtime, the schools see 500 pupils and 230 employees come through their canteen. The kitchen sees over 120 boarders having breakfast and dinner, weekly match teas for parents as well as numerous events throughout the year.

Nadine Travis, Highfield and Brookham Schools’ catering manager said: “We are all absolutely thrilled about the inspection and this is all down to everyone’s hard work. Managing to get five stars year after year in such a large and busy kitchen is amazing.”

Sarah Gray, Highfield and Brookham Schools’ domestic manager, says: “This is a fantastic achievement and credit must go to Nadine and her team for all their hard work ensuring that the kitchens are kept to such a high standard.”

Highfield and Brookham Schools will be holding their next open days on 21 March and 11 May at 10am until 12 noon. This will allow people to visit the five-star canteen and more.

The school also includes a newly refurbished nursery, forest school, on-site swimming pool and 175 acres of grounds.
