Holyport College has announced that Graham Alford has been appointed to the position of Head of Sixth Form. Graham is a graduate of the University of Cardiff and is currently the Head of Science at Gordon’s School, a leading state boarding school in Surrey with a superb track record of academic success.

Graham has a wealth of experience in sixth form teaching, curriculum design and preparing students for Russell Group university entrance. He will take up his post in September 2016, a full year in advance of the opening of Holyport’s sixth form opening. This will ensure that the college is well-prepared for this next major stage of its development.

Graham has been heavily involved in extra-curricular activities at Gordon’s, including leading Duke of Edinburgh’s Award trips to Morocco, Borneo and the Himalayas as well as leading the school ski trip to Austria for the last four years.

Graham said: “I feel privileged to be appointed as the first Head of Sixth Form at Holyport College and I am very excited about working with everyone in the school to build an outstanding sixth form that provides the very best opportunities for our pupils.”

Walter Boyle, founding Head Master of Holyport College, said: “I feel very fortunate to have someone like Graham Alford spearheading sixth form provision at the College.  Coming from one of the best schools in the country, he has much to offer us as we go about establishing a sixth form which will be exciting, happy and academically successful.”
