In a rapidly changing world, teachers face the challenge of preparing children for tomorrow’s world. The 2018 IAPS Annual Conference, ‘Tomorrow’s World; Global Citizens’ will consider how our schools can equip their pupils for this task. 

IAPS schools are already leading the way in providing an individual and distinct education for children. Schools like St Faith’s in Cambridge who have introduced engineering as part of their core curriculum for their pupils from Year 7; Clifton School and Nursery, York, take a synthesis of learning theories from around the world to create a school where pupils are inquisitive and questioning and there is a values-led approach. 

In a world where the pace of change is unprecedented, how can our schools ensure that our young people thrive in the future?

Keynote speakers at the Conference include Sir David Carter (former National Schools Commissioner) who will discuss how schools can work together to build a better education system through collaboration and partnership. While Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE looks at the role of education in an inclusive innovative economy. And global learning specialist, Dr Harriet Marshall, will talk about sustainable development goals in schools and Lord Hastings CBE looks ahead to 2030 and the AI revolution. 

Helen Todd, Vice Chairman of IAPS said: “Every school, like every child, is unique and IAPS schools are no different. We are a diverse and outward- looking group representing some of the best schools in the world. An IAPS education is one that evolves and adapts to the needs of its children and the wider community. As such, at Conference 2018 I am asking fellow heads to consider this: in a world where the pace of change is unprecedented, how can our schools ensure that our young people thrive in the future?” 

The Annual Conference 2018 is being held at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport from Wednesday, 26 September to Friday, 29 September.
