Independent Schools PE Conference: let the games commence
The main aim of April's gathering is to allow teachers to experience a range of activities, delivered by experts in their field
The Independent Schools Physical Education Conference (ISPEC) was founded nearly 50 years ago by teachers in the independent sector. The main rationale/focus has always been to bring Physical Education and Games teachers together, from both Preparatory and Senior Schools, for a series of professional developmental workshops. The 2018 Conference is running between Monday 9th and Wednesday 11th April 2018, at its spiritual home, Bryanston. Delegates will will be amongst the first to be able to take advantage of its new first-class sporting facilities.
The main aim of the conference is to allow teachers to experience a range of activities, delivered by experts in their field, providing them with the potential to cover a years’ INSET over two days. The 2018 programme promises much, with headline tutors including:
– Russell Earnshaw – International Performance Coach with the RFU and England Under-18 Coach
– Jess Woods – Former GB Hockey Performance & Talent Development Coach and current Director of Hockey
– Creag Lawrence – Regional PE & Coaching in Education coordinator at The Football Association
– Dani Mugridge – Surrey Storm Superleague Coach and Director of Sport
In partnership with Land & Wave, all delegates will be offered a free 24hr Coasteering and Paddle Boarding Adventure, taking place over the May half-term.
In addition to the lectures/workshops, the conference also includes a trade exhibition, allowing nearly 40 exhibitors to show wares covering all aspects of the sporting industry, from clothing to software and photography to equipment.
