Perth Prep School announces China partnership

Craigclowan Prep School has announced a new partnership with LUKEC to establish a chain of English language nursery schools in the country

Perth’s Craigclowan Prep School has formed a partnership with Leading United Kingdom Education and Culture Limited (LUKEC) to found a chain of English language nursery schools in China, utilising the licensed brand ‘Craigclowan China’.

The school notes that “an opportunity has arisen for high quality institutions such as Craigclowan to use their excellent reputation to develop new revenue streams and to forge cultural links with an important global economy”.

The plan is to open one nursery in September 2018. Depending on its success, four more will be opened in Beijing over a three year period to create a cluster of five. Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Craigclowan will provide the model for the curriculum, policy documentation, quality assurance and ongoing ambassadorial duties.

“Craigclowan will benefit financially from the partnership which will support its work in Scotland and enable it to build upon the already superb education it provides to its own pupils,” says the school. “It will also benefit from the cultural links and by being able to welcome English speaking Chinese national staff to Craigclowan for visits and exchanges.”

At the official signing of the partnership agreement between LUKEC and Craigclowan, attended by Mr Pen, the Chinese Envoy to Scotland, Bill Farrar, Chairman of Governors at Craigclowan, said: ”I am delighted to be announcing this exciting new step for Craigclowan, which will forge a strong new partnership with China, while also providing a secure and stable future for the education of the 240 pupils already in our care”.
