Posted by Lucinda Reid | December 17, 2016 | Events

Returning to the NEC, Birmingham from 16th-18th March 2017, The Education Show will exhibit the latest innovative ideas, resources and insights in the education sector. The Education Show, now in its 27th year, is the UK’s largest showcase of educational best practice, continuing professional development (CPD), training and educational resources.

Each year, thousands of education professionals gather at the show to discover, trial and compare the latest resources, discuss education policy and practice, and form vital collaborative links with their peers from across the UK. The show has become the must-attend event for educators wanting to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in education, and for those wishing to find out how to make their school an inspiring place to teach and learn.

This year’s show is set to welcome a number of education visionaries who will be speaking across four different theatres. Visitors are invited to be inspired, gain key insights and share their thoughts on some of the most challenging topics currently facing educators, and the sector as a whole.

Here’s an overview of what you can expect from the show:

Learning resources in their hundreds

The three-day event will once again provide educators with the opportunity to explore, examine and test hundreds of resources and products, from over 300 exhibitors. To help visitors plan their route around the show, the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) will be on hand at the BESA Show Information Point. The association’s expert knowledge and experience will help attendees plan their time at the event, ensuring they come away with new ideas, insights and inspiration which they can harness in their schools.

A focus on SEN

The SEN Information Point will be hosted by Nasen, the national association for special educational needs. It will provide visitors with valuable insight into policy changes and the latest practices.

Nasen is the UK’s leading organisation supporting those who work with or care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It offers training, development and support for all staff, including special educational needs co-ordinators (SENCOs), leaders, teachers, governors and teaching assistants.

Nasen also helped to curate The Educations Show’s three-day SEN CPD programme. This programme, made up of free seminars and workshops, has been developed with the aim of encouraging best practice and outstanding methodology for pupils with SEN to be shared and discussed.

Free CPD and training

As always, visitors will have access to an extensive programme of free CPD. The peer-led CPD programme will bring together expert teachers from across the UK to share their varied experiences, giving attendees unique and informative insights into the wider world of education and ensuring teachers get as much out of the event as possible.

Whatever your areas of interest, there are plenty of invaluable opportunities to make your visit to The Education Show worthwhile and fruitful.
