UB, University Business, higher education, Young Leaders Awards

Our last edition of 2015 is the perfect time to reflect on the past 12 months in higher education – our review of the year highlights some of the biggest changes that caused shockwaves throughout the sector, and it also looks ahead at what 2016 might bring.

It was a busy month for the UB team, as we hosted our first ever event. The Young Leaders Awards took place at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London, and celebrated the young, unsung individuals working tirelessly to improve the UK HE sector. Read our full review of the night, along with profiles of our seven young leaders.

On the cover this month is Bristol's new V-C Professor Hugh Brady. In this issue he reveals his vision for the University's future.

Also this month, we take a look at how furniture configurations and spatial design can greatly enhance a learning space.

The spotlight is on Sheffield Hallam University – as it reflects on the success of its £27m Heart of the Campus development, one year on.

We also examine the challenges of implementing the ‘bring your own’ trend on campus.

Continuing our ‘Equality in HE’ series, Pat McGrath from University Hospitality Seminars (UHS) recounts her career highs and discusses just how far gender equality in higher education has come.

If all that wasn’t enough, we’ve got updates from ASRA, CUBO and VWV, as well as some top opinion pieces from the University of Bath and the Russell Partnership’s David Russell.

Every issue of UB is packed with the latest news including:

*Campus services and new developments
*People and appointments
*Key association updates
*Opinions and views
*HE catering
*Education technology
*Events and diary
