We believe there is a better way to manage your business overheads

Utilitas offer a bespoke service tailored to each school

At Utilitas, we like to think of ourselves as a procurement consultancy which does things differently. We’re under no illusions that schools like yours receive phone calls every day from brokers offering cheaper prices on your utility contracts. In fact, we get plenty of those types of calls ourselves, so we know how you feel! Yet, we also know that we do something great for our customers.

Our service is bespoke, tailored to each company’s individual requirements.

“We have worked with Utilitas since 2012 and have been delighted with the substantial savings that they have achieved for the school’s gas and electricity contracts. What we value most of all is having a dedicated account manager on hand to deal with any queries that might arise,” said Uta Acuna, deputy bursar at Battle Abbey School.

As soon as we start working together every customer is assigned a dedicated account manager. Our clients have told us how important it is to have a direct line to the person who understands their portfolio, who can provide advice and liaise with suppliers to resolve any issues.

“We employed the services of Utilitas just a couple of months ago, instructing them to audit our energy expenditure in the first instance. The detail of the audit and the savings they have uncovered for us in such a short time are impressive to say the least and we look forward to seeing what else they can do for us in the coming years as we have now instructed them to review our waste management,” said Rachel Frier, bursar at Heathfield School.

The detail of the audit and the savings they have uncovered for us in such a short time are impressive to say the least

When a client engages with us, we begin with a free-of-charge bill analysis. We audit historic invoices to check for inaccuracies. If there are no problems to find, then there is no fee to pay. If we do uncover issues, and therefore unlock potential savings, we would then work with the suppliers on your behalf to resolve these.

Alongside the bill audit, our account managers can also provide a detailed analysis of your expenditure which is sent to you as a regular report. We work with you to find out what you need to know. So, whether your priority is tracking your energy expenditure against your budgets, or if you prefer to monitor your energy consumption, we can provide you with the data and accompanying analysis, such as a heatmap which shows trends in energy usage in a user-friendly visual format.

“Impressive savings found on our waste and LPG expenditure and with Utilitas auditing our invoices we have saved valuable time as well,” said Edward Valletta, bursar at Kimbolton School

Although the majority of our clients come to us looking for energy solutions, we are also experts in a number of other areas including water, stationery, waste and hygiene – and have a track record of making substantial savings in these areas for schools just like yours.

Mark Organ, assistant bursar at Tonbridge School, said: “We were really impressed with the ESOS report Utilitas produced and have commissioned them to undertake Phase 2.”

We also work with qualified lead assessors to assist schools in producing their ESOS reports. Although the ESOS Phase 2 deadline of 5 December 2019 is fast approaching, it’s not too late for us to help you if you still need to comply, we have assessors ready and waiting.

Utiltias have worked with the independent school sector since our company was established in 2004, and over the past 15 years we are proud to say that we have delivered impressive savings, supported a number of infrastructure projects, resolved historic billing issues, and provided support and advice to our customers.
