100% – what does that mean to you?
Are you bringing your full self to work every day, asks Tracy Shand, author of Boardingology
As we rapidly approach the end of the school year, how are you? Are you at the place where you expected to be at this time of year, or has the game of life got in the way? You are approaching 100% of this school year finishing; a year of inspiring young people to be the best that they can with the gifts that they have. But, what about you?
One hundred per cent – what exactly does that number mean to you? If you were to look at different areas of your life, what values would you give each area this school year? Can you be 100% happy? Can you give 100% to your career and keep everything else in balance? Are you giving 100% to your wellbeing? Have you missed opportunities due to being busy?
Bringing 100% to the educational world, as a job or a vocation, means that your life is in balance – from a healthy body and mind, to feeling that you have a purpose
As educational professionals, we live in a dynamic world where no two days are the same. When you wake up in the morning, the day that you expected to have has sometimes all changed by 9am!
It takes one email, one conversation or one ‘something’ to change your day. Bringing 100% to the educational world, as a job or a vocation, means that your life is in balance – from a healthy body and mind, to feeling that you have a purpose and a way forward to reach your potential.
You can’t pour from an empty cup, so my questions for you are:
● Are you bringing 100% of yourself to work every day?
● If you or your team are not bringing 100%, why not? And can you do something about it?
What small step can you take this term to increase your percentages one person at a time? Educational climate change needs to happen, and it can start with you today.
