The Sports and Play Construction Association (SAPCA) will bring its Sports Facility Show to Reading’s Madejski Stadium in June, offering people throughout the sports and play sector an opportunity to gain industry insight into important issues, such as how to increase their chances of securing funding. The show, which is being jointly organised with Get Berkshire Active, will offer advice for anyone involved in sports facility funding, design, construction and management at any level, from sports clubs and schools to leisure operators and local authorities.
The show will feature a programme of seminars, touching on key topics such as the importance of highlighting a project’s long-term sustainability when applying for funding, hosted by funding advisor Karen Wolland, as well as a presentation from Brett Nicholls, chief executive at Get Berkshire Active, about how to engage individuals, communities and the workplace in physical activity.
As well as a supporting exhibition, SAPCA will be bringing along ‘The Bench’ – an advice centre for free guidance, information and one-to-one sessions with speakers and industry specialists.
The event takes place on Tuesday 9 June; entry is free and places can be booked by calling 024 7776 7226. SAPCA will be holding another event on Tuesday 24 November at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford.
