An egg-cellent Easter

St Anthony’s School for Girls celebrate Easter in style

St Anthony’s School for Girls pupils had a cracking good time celebrating Easter at the end of the term. Pupils took part in a range of activities including an Easter bonnet parade, an egg hunt, craft sessions and they joined the St Anthony’s Boys School for a special Easter celebration.

The girls paraded around Golders Hill Park showcasing their hand-crafted bonnets to delighted passers-by. The girls with the best bonnets were selected and presented with a book about nature as their prize.

Sophia Fu was chosen in the reception group for her incredible Easter bunny bonnet and the Year 3 winner was Romilly Burgess; her bonnet was a beautiful celebration of nature in the form of a nest.

The reception class also joined the boys school to share in their Easter celebrations. The girls gave handmade Easter cards to the boys before partaking in lots of fun activities, including creating bunny ear hats and making delicious chocolate Easter nests.

During the craft session at St Anthony’s School for Girls the pupils created paper baskets which they decorated with brightly coloured Easter designs. They then went on an Easter egg hunt in the school gardens searching high and low for prizes of eggs, pom-poms, feathers and buttons.

Laura Martin, Headteacher, commented: “The girls had so much fun celebrating Easter, it was a great way to end the term. It was fantastic to join in with the boy’s school as we have such a great partnership. The bonnets were incredible, it was hard to choose winners as all of the girls put so much effort in, but Romilly and Sophia’s were exceptional.”

St. Anthony’s School for Girls teaches pupils in a Catholic environment, and is inclusive and open to other faiths. The new school will educate girls from age 4–11. Classes in reception and Year 3 opened in September 2016 and growth will be organic after that, with Year 1, 2 and Year 4 opening in September 2017 and so on.
