Bootham school pupil to represent GB

Toby, aged 17, is to represent his country in modern pentathlon

A student from Bootham School in York is celebrating after being selected to represent his country.

Toby Price has been chosen to represent Team GB in the modern pentathlon at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires next month.

Toby is currently in his final year at Bootham studying for A-levels in Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

He is also in the process of finalising his application to study Engineering at a number of top universities including Cambridge and Bath.

Toby has been taking part in the modern pentathlon since the age of 12 and has competed in a number of international events, including more recently the Under 19 European Cup in Spain. 

Toby said: “I am very excited about this opportunity to represent not only my school, but also my country.”

Toby, it must be emphasised, is very excited to be chosen.
