Brentwood Prep en garde!

Brentwood Prep’™s Under 11 Girls’ fencing team scooped gold in last weekend’™s British School Team Fencing Championships

The Under 11 Girls’ Team 1 – Maddy Gale, Freya Collins and Esha Parmar – took the accolade in convincing style, beating Guildford High School’s Team 1 by 45-34 points in the Foil final.

Brentwood is one of the strongest fencing schools in the country and fielded 17 teams in the championships held at Medway Park, Gillingham.

Fencing Master Mr Chris Galesloot said: “I am delighted with these results and the way all Brentwood School fencers presented themselves during these championships. They acted as team-players. There was a lot of support for each other also from the fencers that did not win a medal.

“These results show that we are one of the strongest fencing schools in Britain. I am especially happy to now have won the Under 11 Girls’ Foil trophy for the second time in a row. This means that the future of Brentwood School fencing is looking very bright! “

Brentwood Prep’s Under 11 Foil Girls’ Team 2 – Louise Bender, Isabella Hall and Sarah Dawe – won the bronze medal, ensuring the Prep not only successfully defended its title but came home with even more medals!
