Set up in 1984, the Cateys are the hospitality industry’s equivalent to the Oscars and recognise and celebrate individuals, teams and businesses from within the hospitality industry. For Sue – Managing Partner at Brookwood – the award represents the highest accolade in the sector.
Judged by peers and spanning the entire industry, previous winners of a Catey Award include the likes of Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and fellow Managing Partner, Kate Martin, who won the Food Service Catey in 2008.
At the award ceremony, Sue was praised by the judges for her focus and commitment to people development within the Food Service sector. With ‘People’ being one of Brookwood’s founding philosophies, Parfett has spent many years developing and delivering training programmes that have not only benefited the caterer, but the whole food service industry. From the outset, she aimed to ensure that employees felt valued and recognised. Modelling her approach on the John Lewis Partnership, she has also invested in innovative communication channels such as BrookwoodTV, to keep her on-site teams informed of company news and developments.
On receiving the award Sue said: “Thisisagreathonour.
