Isobel, 13, of Chester, was also the third girl or woman of any age home for Great Britain.
She ran in the Osterreichescher Frauenlauf race in Vienna as part of a group of 14 pupils from The Queen’s School’s Running Club, which trains daily around the historic Chester Walls.
The Austrian race is the largest of its kind with around 31,000 women participating this year. Isabel was placed 624th overall – an amazing achievement for a 13-year-old.
Girls from Years 8-10 took part in the race along with Ms Gilly Mayes and Mrs Janet O’Donnell who organise the club.
The team as a whole also did very well with every single girl finishing – many much quicker than they had expected.
After their race, the pupils took a few days to see the sights of the Austrian capital and visited the UN base there.
