Connect Catering has been crowned the Sunday Times Best Company to Work For. The contract caterer, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, was ranked fifth in 2018.
The independent, family-run business employs 450 people across 74 sites.
The company’s joint-managing director, Kate Bendall, said: “We are always searching for innovative ways to improve and this is brilliant feedback, confirming that everything we have put in place is working and being appreciated by our valued team. As Richard Branson put it, ‘If you look after your staff well, they will look after your customers’.”
“When you have 450 staff spread out over the South East,” she continued, “good communication really is the backbone to success. Keeping everyone well-informed – through the newsletter, regular meetings with the operations team, and our two conferences each year – make all the difference in boosting engagement and ensuring everyone feels like they are truly part of the Connect Catering family.”
Founded in 1989, Connect Catering claims to be a “forward-thinking fresh food contract caterer, training and developing their chefs and wider team to deliver delicious food with exceptional service, whist constantly reviewing the market place to bring innovation and creativity into every aspect of their offering”.
