An 11-year-old girl from City of London School for Girls has been named as one of the Guardian’s Young Critics of the Year

A year 6 pupil at the City of London School for Girls, Eloise Schaw Miller, has been named a winner in the Guardian Young Critics Competition. Entrants were required to write a book review of one of the books shortlisted for the Guardian’s Children’s Fiction Prize. Eloise’s review was on ‘The Lost Gods’ by Francesca Simon. Entry is open to children up to the age of 17, and 10 winners are chosen overall.

The awards ceremony was held on the 13th November at The Guardian, where 11-year-old Eloise was given the opportunity to meet the authors before being presented with one of the Young Critics and Children’s Fiction Prizes, including the eight long-listed books and a book voucher of £20.
