DLD College London students meet respected editor

Students were inspired during a visit from the former editor of ‘Empire’ magazine, Helen O’Hara

Helen O’Hara, the former editor of film-specialising Empire magazine, recently met with students from DLD College London

In a talk hosted by the BTEC Media Production department at the Westminster Bridge-based college, Helen gave students an invaluable insight into the industry. She shared her wealth of knowledge, discussing her experiences and providing the students with welcome advice on constructing feature articles.

Helen, who is currently working freelance, is one of the voices of the popular Empire podcasts.

DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif, commented: “It was delightful to welcome Helen into our college. She utilised her wealth of experience to deliver a highly engaging session, motivating our students further to pursue their creative dreams.

“Our BTEC Media Production Course gives students who see themselves working in television, music, film, publishing or advertising that first step towards a career in the industry. We are continuously looking to provide opportunities, such as specialist talks and workshops, to deliver a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge.”
