Double win for Oundle at Bedford

Both the Boys’ U18 Quad Scull and Girls’ U16 Quad Scull came home with the gold

Oundle School Boat Club had two wins at Bedford Amateur Rowing Regatta on Saturday 6th May.

The Boys’ Quad Scull of Anthony Orr , Zac Freij, Ollie Chapman, and Cosmo Davis Gimeno won the Boys’ Junior U18 Quad Scull in an event with crews from Bedford Modern, Bedford School (A&B) and St Paul’s School.

The Girls’ Quad Scull of Holly Kunzer, Alice Gadsby, Hattie Spencer, and Poppy Stopford won the Girls’ Junior U16 Quad Scull in an event with crews from Bedford Modern and Sir William Borlase.

These crews will now go on to race at Nottingham City Regatta on Saturday 13th May in preparation for the National Schools Regatta at the end of this half term.

Head of Rowing, Marcus Walker commented, “The Fourth Form (Year 10) girls and boys also raced and it was great to see the interaction between the age groups and to witness effort and commitment amongst all the crews, giving hope and encouragement to the whole club. A good starting point for the regatta season.”
