A Bristol independent school is set to star in a long-running, fly-on-the-wall BBC documentary strand.
The eighth series of ‘Our School’ began filming at Badminton School in March, and across 10 episodes will give a behind-the-scenes perspective of life at an all-girls boarding and day school.
“It was a hugely exciting spring this year as the staff and pupils welcomed the production crew and their cameras onto site,” said Badminton’s acting head, Stuart Dalley.
“Boarding schools are places that people don’t always know a great deal about, often with endlessly intriguing stories attached to them, so it was a joy to take part in this series that will give viewers a real glimpse into boarding life.”
The series – retitled ‘Our Boarding School’ for its latest iteration – was originally scheduled to start broadcasting on 12 September, but was postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Instead, it will begin on CBBC at 10.35am on 26 September, and be screened each weekday until concluding on 7 October.

The first episode, ‘Away from Home’, will focus on the arrival of two international students – Cherry, arriving from Shanghai, and Valentina, flying in from Barcelona.
Subsequent programmes will look at the fun, friendships and challenges the boarding pupils face while living away from home, with episode titles including ‘Around the House’, ‘Braving the Storm’, and ‘All the Feels’.
A full week of episodes will be released on the BBC iPlayer each Monday.
“It was cool being behind the scenes, watching people film – I found it really enjoyable,” said one of the contributing pupils, Joyt, a year eight boarder. “You were even able to film bloopers sometimes!
“They made [the piece to camera interviews] really fun because you were even allowed to sit behind the camera sometimes and ask the questions.”
