Two independent schools in Oxfordshire have teamed up to help deliver medical equipment and supplies to Ukraine.
Abingdon and Headington schools each loaned a minibus to Eden Aiding Refugees, a group established by the parents of former pupils, following the Russian invasion.
Troels Henrikson and Darryl Mattocks carried the supplies to the border between Poland and Ukraine, and are hoping to bring back refugees to either Germany, the Netherlands or – visas permitting – the UK.
“We want to make a difference to as many people as we can,” said Eden Aiding Refugees.
“These refugees have so little, [with] their entire lives literally packed into one small bag. And the absence of men at the refugee centres, the connotation of what that means, is particularly chilling.
“We are incredibly grateful to Abingdon and Headington Schools for helping to make this latest Eden Aiding Refugees delivery possible.”
