What can we expect at Bett?

By bringing together education thought leaders, government policy makers, practitioners and more than 600 exhibitors showcasing the latest educational technologies, Bett 2016 aims to provide the best possible opportunity to explore and discuss the key issues, policies, resources and services in learning technology.

So what can we expect to see this year?

The Bett Arena returns

At the heart of the show floor, the Bett Arena will once again host a whole programme of high-profile speakers, including, Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities, and Sugata Mitra, Professor of Educational Technology at the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, Newcastle University,

Other big names include Angela Duckworth, Professor of Psychology, University of Pennsylvania, and Robert Winston, Researcher, Doctor, Broadcaster, Professor of Science and Society, Imperial College London.

Fostering the STEAM Revolution

The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) Village at Bett 2016 provides a platform for educators, practitioners, specialists and STEAM enthusiasts to join the STEAM revolution. Through a series of panels, dynamic sessions and live demos it will present the latest initiatives and projects that are shaping STEAM education for students and teachers.

#Kidsmeet

This year’s show will be home to one of the biggest ever KidsMeets. It will feature a virtual reality experience from Night Zookeeper and a journey to Mars by Now>Press>Play. #Kidsmeet takes place on Saturday 23 January from 11:30am to 3:45pm.

Bett Futures is back

Futures, one of the highlights of last year’s show, will also be returning this year. The purpose-built home for the world’s most inspiring edtech start-ups has been introduced to celebrate brave thinking, new products and education ‘game changers’. It’s themes this year including:
