The team at Hampton Court House is launching a new educational venture: a programme of talks and courses for adults entitled Form Seven. The 18th-century house adjoining Bushy Park is home to an independent school by day and will, from April, play host during the evening to events on arts and sciences, languages, entrepreneurship, parenting, food and wine.
Adam D’Souza has led the development of Form Seven. Says D’Souza: “The setting is perfect; and the breadth of expertise at Hampton Court House means that I’m spoilt for choice in choosing exciting talks and courses to offer. In Form Seven, we want to create a place where people and ideas meet.”
Form Seven will launch this term with three events to celebrate 500 years of the Tudors, before rolling out its full programme in September. The first talk, on 30 April, sees the historian and BBC presenter Jonathan Foyle speaking on the Tudor history of Hampton Court Palace.
Guy Holloway is a co-founder of Hampton Court House. He says: “From when we first opened our doors, we wanted to instil a lifelong love of learning in our students. We sought to be a centre of debate, of ideas and self-questioning. Why should that end at 18? Offering opportunities for adults to learn, discuss and connect is a natural development for us.”
