This June marks my 10th issue as editor of IET, marking a year in post. In that time, we've seen single-sex education, charitable status, fees and more thrust into the spotlight, while the number of pupils at independent schools has never been higher - reflected in a very healthy ISC Census.
This month's special feature on education technology looks at how schools around the country are using handheld devices, virtual learning environments and more to enhance teaching, nurturing the innovative talent of tomorrow.
Elsewhere, we look at two North American school trip case studies, which are sure to inspire. Our regular events round-up includes a sneaky peek at what's on offer at New Scientist Live in September - we are delighted to be a media partner this year.
This month, we've teamed up with the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA) to celebrate National Boarding Week from 20-24 June. I want to hear your views on boarding life - whether it's the challenges of homesickness, the joys of midnight feasts or the difference you're making to students' education.
To take part, tweet to @ie_today using #BoardingBecause and, if 140 characters aren't enough, send in your blogs by 1 June to be featured on the website during National Boarding Week. I'll also choose a blog to be featured in the July/August issue of IE magazine.
