The abbot of Worth and the chairman of governors of Worth School have announced the appointment of Stuart McPherson as the new school headmaster from September 2015. He succeeds Gino Carminati, who is retiring after eight years.

Mr McPherson is currently house master of Penn House at Eton College and a teacher of English. He took his bachelor’s degree at the University of Western Australia before completing an MA in literature and religion at Newcastle University. Mr McPherson taught at Sydney Grammar School from 1990-2000 and has been at Eton since 2000. He is married to Johneen, who is the director of studies at St Mary’s Ascot, and they have four children aged between 14 and 21.

Mr McPherson will be the seventh headmaster of Worth School and the third lay headmaster in the school’s 55-year history.
