Bolton School girls are Greater Manchester badminton champions

Squad of four from Bolton School Girls’ Division compete in the Sports Partnership Greater Manchester Badminton Finals

In the last week of the Spring Term, a squad of four U16 badminton players from Bolton School Girls’ Division competed in the Sports Partnership Greater Manchester Badminton Finals.

After finishing top of their group, there was a three-way play-off between the three highest scoring teams. Bolton’s first opponents in the final were Cheadle Hulme – a close match ensued with Bolton running out eventual winners by three games to two.

The squad’s final game against Withington Girls’ School was another close contest and came down to the final game, which saw Bolton win to become the Greater Manchester county champions.

“The team played fantastically well in a very pressured final and were terrific in holding their nerve against strong opposition. Congratulations go to Ishaani Singh, Ella Hilton, Chloe Zhang and Anayka Patel,” said PE teacher Ms Farrimond-Goff.
