Euro success for City girls

The British Council’s eTwinning Quality Label, given In recognition of European work, awarded to City of London girls…

Year 7 Spanish students, from City of London School for Girls, were recently awarded a quality label for their project ‘FUSE’. The venture, created at the eTwinning+ Conference in Krakow, October 2013 thanks to the liaison between four teachers from France, Spain, UK and Ukraine, aims to promote intercultural understanding using a variety of cross curricular skills. Areas explored include festivities, cultures and traditions, traditional recipes and music. The ultimate goal for the project is to create an intercultural song and dance in the four different languages within the project. The name comprises the initials of the countries involved (France, UK, Ukraine, Spain) and the final E stands for eTwinning.

The application received positive reviews from the judges. One such comment said: “Real wow Factor in this project. Well-considered and thought-through… learning focused and at the same time creative and innovative. [The] enthusiasm of students was evident in the visual materials…. A vivid example of making learning fun!”
