Falcons’ girls show the importance of kindness

Falcons School for Girls participate in random acts of kindness during December in aid of Anti-Bullying Week

The pupils at The Falcons School for Girls on Woodborough Road have spent a month spreading kindness as part of an initiative they developed to raise awareness for National Anti-Bullying Week.

Continuing the anti-bullying theme into December and not limiting it to one week, the girls in every class helped to create a daily calendar filled with random acts of kindness. Each day, one girl was selected to open the calendar and announce to their class what act of kindness they should all aim to do that day.

Some of the acts of kindness included, giving someone an unexpected compliment and packing a friend’s school bag ready to go home at the end of the day.

Headmistress Sophia Ashworth Jones, commented: “It has been a wonderful month witnessing the girls go out for their way and being kind to someone new. They are a very caring group already but we think it is important to show them the importance of always being kind. They were extremely proactive when it was Anti-Bullying Week so we thought it would work well to continue that spirit into December.”

Falcons School for Girls is one of London’s leading independent preparatory schools and is part of the prestigious Alpha Plus Group. It comprises of four Edwardian houses within the leafy conservation area Woodborough Road, Putney.
