She passes the Queen’s baton to Mrs Rachel Cookson, previously Head of Pre-Prep and Nursery at Terra Nova School in Holmes Chapel.
Mrs Taylor, from Northwich, is retiring from teaching to continue her adventures and travel the world with her husband Nick.
She has had a fun packed final academic year – leading the choir to two national finals, eating frogs legs in Paris, swimming in Ullswater, dressing up as the Queen at the annual garden party, leading a chorus of parents at the school production and recently winning the Schools’ Raft Race with the Lower School raft ‘The Queen of Hearts’.
To mark her lasting legacy to Queen’s, pupils from the Lower School wrote and performed a song at the garden party about her ‘special soul’ and presented her with a moving book of memories. Friends and colleagues from The Senior School also recorded a video which captured her spirit entitled ‘Happy!’
Head of The Queen’s School Sarah Clark said: “Felicity is a force of nature and we will miss her enormously. She is an excellent teacher, strategist and leader of people but, most importantly, she has been a wonderful friend to so many of us here.
“She leaves us knowing that her vision for Queen’s Lower School has been achieved. She has developed our warm, nurturing school to be bigger, better and do much much more for the girls.
“Her love of the outdoors and her spirit of adventure have been firmly embedded into the school’s culture and she can rest assured that every Queen’s girl will continue to need Wellington boots and have the opportunity to swim in lakes and climb mountains even after she has gone!”
