ISC Annual Census opens next week

Don’t forget to participate in the census, which opens on 21 January

The Independent Schools Council (ISC) conducts a census of its constituent association members each year, to gain a broad and current view of the sector. As of May 2015, there were record numbers of pupils at the 1,267 ISC member schools – 517,113 pupils, the highest-ever level demonstrating the strength of the sector.

Julie Robinson, General Secretary at ISC, says: “The ISC has been running a census of schools in membership of ISC Associations since 1974 and for 40 years has provided unique insight into our hugely broad collective of schools.

“The intelligence we receive on pupil numbers, fees and international students, to name just a few areas, is analysed by ISC’s dedicated research team and each April a full document is published and sent to all schools.

“Because the census has been produced for so many years, we are able to see the much bigger picture and it puts ISC in an incredibly strong position for promoting and protecting the sector with politicians as well as the media and parents.

“We are always grateful to schools for taking the time to send us this vital information.”

The census will be open from 21 to 31 January 2016. Results will be published in April.
