It all stacks up

A St Swithun’s School pupil has won four medals and come third overall in the WSSA UK Sport Stacking Championships

Seventeen-year-old St Swithun’s School pupil Leonora Tomlinson from Winchester has become the third fastest female speed-stacker in the UK. Leonora competed in February at the UK Sport Stacking National Championships in Stevenage. Competitors race against the clock to see who can complete cup-stacking routines in the fastest time. Leonora competed against 30 other female participants to win third place overall, gain four gold medals in her age category and three divisional UK records. Three of her gold medals were recorded in the individual 3-3-3, 3-6-3 and cycle stacks respectively. Her fourth medal was won with speed-stacking partner James, in an event where both people jointly complete a routine using only one hand. Leonora will now compete in the European Championships in Spain in May.

Leonora, who practises for a minimum of three hours a week, has challenged the St Swithun’s staff to a contest and demonstrated and taught her skills to fellow pupils at the school’s fundraising day at the end of the spring term.
