New students given a three head start

Last month no less than three headmasters attended an orientation event for Wellington School’™s newest cohort of pupils

In an evening event at the Somerset school, outgoing headmaster Martin Reader was joined by his successor Henry Price, in addition to Adam Gibson, Headmaster of Wellington Prep.

While the new pupils for Year 7, 8 and 9 took part in various activities that allowed them to socialise with new classmates, parents had a social supper and met members of staff. The pupils sat in their houses and were welcomed one by one to the school, shaking the hand of their new headmaster.

Henry Price, who will join Wellington in September from Rugby School, commented: “I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the new pupils and parents and am looking forward to doing all I can to ensure the continued success of the school in the years ahead.”

Current headmaster Martin Reader, who will move to Cranleigh School in September, added: “I am confident that I am handing over a strong school to an inspiring new headmaster.
