Parents transform into elves for charity

The festive spirit was out in full force at Rydal Penrhos prep school

Parents donned their best elf outfits for Rydal Penrhos prep school’s annual Secret Santa initiative on Tuesday, December 5.

For a small donation pupils entered a Secrets Room where they could pick two gifts of their choosing to give to whomever they wished on Christmas Day, before having them specially wrapped by the school’s resident elves before returning to the classroom.

Pupils also received some finely wrapped reindeer food to leave out for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

The annual event, which is organised by the Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee, has raised thousands of pounds for a number of worthy cause since its inception.

Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “This is something that the parents have been doing for a few years now and the pupils here absolutely love it.

“All presents are donated by parents at the school and the children can give them to either a family member or close friend, and it really gets them into the festive spirit.

You can see the excitement on our children’s faces when they enter the room, which is really heart-warming – Roger McDuff, Prep school head

“You can see the excitement on our children’s faces when they enter the room, which is really heart-warming, and I would like to thank our parents who worked so hard to ensure the event was once again a huge success.”
