Rokeby takes to the slopes with style

Rokeby School has achieved unprecedented success on the slopes, resulting in three British Team titles and one individual title

The success started with the Rokeby A Team winning the British Independent Ski School (BISS) Indoor Championships, at Hemel Hempstead back in September.  The team of Theo Crane-Robinson, Sam Smedley, Caspar Jansa and Freddie Guy held off the challenge from The Hall and Moulsford, with both Sam and Freddie picking up Individual medals.

At the IAPS Ski Championships held in Passo Tonale the competition was larger in number and higher in quality than ever before.  With over 230 skiers taking part competition was going to be tough.  The Under 11 Squad (Freddie Guy, Toby Smedley & Leonardo Figna) picked up the Team Title, winning by nearly 4 seconds, with Freddie collecting the Individual Bronze.  Things were much tighter in the Under 13s with the Squad not featuring on the podium after the first run.  Fantastic second runs from Daniel Merighi (6th overall) and Sam Smedley (4th overall), combined with the first run efforts of Theo Crane-Robinson & Caspar Jansa (5th overall) saw the side win the Championship by the smallest of margins (0.4 seconds), from Repton Dubai.

The season finished with the SATIPSki Indoor Championships.  Freddie Guy finished the season retaining the Under 11 Individual Title, which he had won the previous year as an Under 10.  His efforts combined with those of Toby Smedley, Leonardo Figna and Seb Biedrzycki saw the Squad collect a Team Bronze.
