Rydal pupil driving into a bright future

Golfer, Reuben Bather, is currently placed 14th in Europe in the under-16 age bracket

A Golf Academy star at Rydal Penrhos has continued his sensational run of recent achievements.

Reuben Bather, a Year 10 pupil at the school, was selected as a Welsh representative at the European Young Masters, which recently took place at Hauger Golf Club in Norway.

The 15 year old sports scholar performed well on a difficult course to finish in 17th position, and was the second-placed competitor from the United Kingdom. He is now placed 14th in the European under-16 rankings.

Rydal Penrhos’ Director of Sport, Allen Boyd, said: “For Reuben to not only be competing against, but thriving amongst the best young golfers throughout Europe, is a testament to how much natural talent he has and how hard he is working to get the very most out of it.

“We are delighted with how he has developed since joining Rydal Penrhos, and his future is incredibly bright if he continues to show the same application to improving his game in the months and years ahead.”
