September issue of IE Today out now!

The latest independent schools mag is now available on our website and app store

Here we are on the cusp of another school year – and as you welcome your students back, I’m sure you are hoping for a less changeful year in education policy. After the historic ‘Brexit’ vote in June, this month our experts look at the implications for schools, international students and catering.

This month’s special features explore uniform trends and the growth of the ‘collaborative classroom’. I’d love to hear how you are experimenting with technology and pedagogy – send your thoughts to me here.

In our packed facilities section, we go behind the scenes to talk to three suppliers about ventilation, water supply and modular construction. Did you know that modular buildings are not just a temporary solution, but are built to last? Find out more from page 24.

This summer I also had the pleasure of visiting Brighton College, where Director of Sport Roger Nicholson reflected on his 10 years in the sports department. We talked about developing life skills like resilience, building participation and the international boom as Roger heads off to a new role at Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS). Read more from page 32.

Read the magazine online here.

That’s all from me – enjoy the issue and we’ll be back next month with our travel special. If you’re planning a spring getaway, do get in touch!

Until next time,
