A ‘madcap megathon’ at Solihull School’s junior school has been a mega-success, raising a record amount for three Midlands’ charities.
The annual school event, which was held on the junior school fields, saw the pupils tackle a series of fun challenges, in the process raising an incredible £7,249.50. All of the money raised has been split between Solihull Mind, Rosie’s Rainbow Pantry and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Mark Penney, Head of the Junior School, hailed the fundraiser a huge success, as well as a rewarding experience for the pupils: “The megathon was a real win-win scenario – the children raised a record amount of money for good causes and had lots of fun time doing it. The craziest event was the assault course, with the children having to tackle it wearing a cap with a cup of water stuck to it. There were bouncy hoppers, a three-legged race, a skipping contest and their football, tennis and basketball skills were also put to the test,” continued Mark. “Everyone enjoyed themselves on the day and it was especially rewarding for the children to then hand over the cheques to the charities.”
