The Leys School
Cricketer Carla Rudd joined The Leys as director of sport days after finishing second as part of the Southern Brave team in The Hundred competition. Carla, a passionate advocate for girls’ sport, said: “I believe each of us has a talent and, as educators, it is our responsibility, and privilege, to help unearth those talents and enable the students to flourish in any given field they wish to follow.”
Craigclowan School
Mrs Liz Henderson has been appointed as new head of Craigclowan School, Perth. The governors were united in their view that Mrs Henderson’s extensive experience of what makes Craigclowan exceptional, coupled with her deep commitment to both academic and pastoral excellence and her clear focus on staff development, mean the school is very well placed for the future.
Bolton School
Mr Steve King is the new head of the Junior Boys’ School at Bolton School. He joins from Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur, where he led key stage 2 for seven years. Prior to that, he spent nine years at The British International School, Shanghai.
Mr King said: “The school is a vibrant and busy environment with quality teaching and high expectations of the students’ behaviour and conduct.”
Griffin House School
Griffin House School, a co-educational Prep School for pupils aged 3–11 in Buckinghamshire (part of Chatsworth Schools), appointed Miss Helen Milnes as the new head of Griffin House School on 1 September 2022.
Helen joins from Wetherby Kensington, a pre-preparatory school for boys in London, where she was the founding head.
She was previously deputy head (pastoral) at Wetherby School.
