The campaign is now in its third year and, following Bradley Barton Primary School’s winning Wizard of Oz inspired garden in 2014, the challenge for 2015 is to create something special as part of the celebration surrounding Stewart Group Holdings70th Anniversary as a UK manufacturer of gardening products.
The Stewart Garden Schools campaign challenges schools to be creative with Stewart Garden products. Every entrant in this year’s campaign studied growing seeds and explored the differences between electric and non-electric propagators. Based on the popular musical, Barton Primary School’s winning creation featured scarecrows, floral rainbows and woodland made of peas. The pupils also created a wormery to break down old leaves for garden compost.
Almost 200schools across the UK, from the Isle of Wight to Stirling, have participated in the campaign. Participating schools receivegarden products worth over £400 and three varieties of easy-grow vegetable seeds from Pippa Greenwood’s range. Additionally,compost is donated by participating garden centres and professional growers’ specialist, J Arthur Bowers.
Building on previous year’s success the top ten entrants in the Stewart Garden Schools campaign 2015 will receive a generous level of prize money. The winning school will receive £1,000 to spend at its local garden centre. The nine runners up will each receive £100.
In partnership J Arthur Bowers will donate £500 worth of vouchers to the winner and the nine runners up’s prize money. The global electronics giant, Brother, is again supplying schools with its sophisticated GL200 garden label printer.

This year’s Stewart Garden Schools campaign kit will include Stewart Garden propagators, seed trays, plant pots, troughs and watering cans. The company has also produced promotional materials and an informative booklet.
The Stewart Garden Schools campaign 2015 is open to school pupils aged 6-11 years.
