On Friday 5 June, the WWF launches a new fundraising event, Wear It Wild. It challenges pupils, teachers and parents on the school run to dress up and show their wild side to help protect wildlife. Participating schools can access a range of downloadable curriculum-related resources in connection with the event.
CBBC’s Cel Spellman said: “I was astonished to find out that in the last 40 years the number of animal populations in the wild has declined by 52 percent. These figures are simply shocking and not good enough. So this June, I’m going to be Wearing It Wild to help raise money for WWF in all the amazing work that they do.”
Karen Gates, schools and events Specialist at WWF-UK, said: “We all know children love animals – and Wear It Wild is a great way for them to learn about their favourite species, let loose and go wild to show their passion for the cause.”
Money raised will help support WWF’s work to tackle threats to the natural world and wildlife.
