Wycombe Abbey sets new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title

Wycombe Abbey has set a new Guinness World Records title for the most people playing monopoly in a single venue

Over 500 students and staff recently gathered to play 84 separate games of Monopoly, breaking the record previously held by NC State University Housing (USA).

The event was adjudicated by an official representative from Guinness World Records who validated the successful attempt and presented the School with a certificate. The Mayor of High Wycombe also attended to show his support and volunteers from One Can Trust and the British Legion acted as external witnesses.

All Monopoly boards used in the event were personalised Wycombe Abbey Monopoly sets and will be sold in the School Shop as the games that were used in the successful Guinness World Records attempt.

Headmistress Rhiannon Wilkinson said: “I am delighted by our success and what a joyful way to end the term. I hope it will be a very long time until anyone else tries to break our record.”
