Leweston School supports Bath Rugby match in aid of partnership

Leweston School became part of Bath Rugby’s School Partnerships for 2021/22 in September, giving students unique training opportunities

After becoming part of Bath Rugby’s School Partnerships for 2021/22 in September, Leweston School pupils headed north this month to watch Bath Rugby play in the Gallagher English Premiership.

At the match, pupils were invited to stand on the side-lines and act as flag bearers. They saw the struggling side come from behind to finally secure a first win of the season in a 22-19 victory over relegation rivals, Worcester Warriors.

The partnership has afforded students a number of ways with which to engage with the club.

Boys and girls have been given the opportunity to receive high-quality rugby coaching sessions at the club’s elite training facility – Farleigh House – and the chance to meet and train with first-team players.

In October last year, the collaboration saw the school host a Rugby Masterclass Roadshow and welcome over 80 boys and girls from across the local community, in a bid to help promote the game and develop skills.
